This is a nice bike for children to learn how to balance, which is necessary to be able to ride a pedal bike. It is light weight, height adjustable and turning radius limited for safety.
I’m an 80 year old Grand Pa who knows bikes, making them available for my children, their children and many others. Before balance bikes were made, I’d remove the pedals off a small bike, so with them out of the way, a youngster sitting on the bike would walk it along and could feel when it balanced. Very quickly, keeping it balanced was learned as the bike was rolled along.
It is a misconception that children need to be taught how to ride a bike. All they need is an opportunity to learn how to balance one, as they did when they learned how to walk. With the same skills they taught themselves to walk, they’ll teach themselves to ride a bike, beginning first to lean how to balance it.
With the pedals back on, moving feet to pedal is learned as quickly as was moving feet to walk. Learning how to use the brakes to stop, is learned as quickly. If your youngster is slow in learning how to ride a bike, make it easier for them by getting the pedals out of the way, then adjusting the seat height so they can sit on the seat with their feet on the ground so as to walk along and feel what balance is. The right foot pedal has standard threads - turn left to loosen, while the left foot pedal has reverse threads, needing to turn right to loosen.
This BO-BIKE has been used only by one Grand Girl, because when arriving later for us, I had already given away my starter bike the other six had learned on. The below link shows it at Amazon. The photo measurements is from their add. It came in pieces, not in the usual toy marked box. The bike is as clean as new, showing only a few scuff marks that you have to look for to see. The 3 L shaped hex keys and manual completes the original package and are for your use in adjusting for your just-right fitting.
