Caretaking work: watering plants and feeding 3 dogs onsite. Basic yard work; raking, weeding. Farming work: transplanting and harvesting. Usually about 15 hours a week. I'm also looking for an individual(s) who is comfortable watching my 2 boys ages 4 & 6 for a few hours during the days I have them here with me, which is usually 2-3 days a week, approx. 10 hours a week.
So in exchange for 25 hours of work a week you get to live in an awesome little vintage trailer fully equipped; propane stove, running water and electricity. I'm currently in the process of building an outhouse situation with shower. So in the mean time you'll be using the main house for showers, etc.
So all utilities will be included in this work trade exchange; water, propane, electric, wi-fi. The wi-fi here is awesome as most of my help had some type of internet work they did while here to help supplement their income.
You also have the option to sign on for the “meal plan” for $100 a month you eat what we eat. Pretty sweet deal.. see photos.
I also run a string instrument restoration business which has picked up over the years which I could also use help with; sanding/cleaning/polishing, touch-up work, nothing equivalent to brain surgery. I use my shop here to also restore other things: antique radios, furniture, old typewriters, etc etc. Oh and records... I sell a great deal of records on-line. So there are several ways to make money here aside from the work trade deal. Oh.. and taking product to farmers markets gets you some loot too!
If you don't have experience with farming and tool use I can teach you. Unfortunately I can not teach you the ways of children as I'm learning now myself. So I do ask that you are not only familiar in the ways of children but that you also want to be doing this work. I understand the reality of housing in this area, however, the last thing I want here is an individual(s) who just needs a place to stay and isn't really into this lifestyle.
No hard drugs or excessive behavior is cool here. Dogs are cool as so long as they play well with others. If you are an artist/musician there is space here for you to work/practice.
